The Great Rubber Duckie Race! (+Easter Eggs)

Saturday morning Quinn & I drove down to McCully Shopping Center to "adopt" some duckies for the race. It rained when we got there and pretty much during the entire race making it the slowest one in race history! Quinn got to "help" the duckies along by assisting in pulling the finish line closer.

Luckily for us there was a place called "The Hot Pot" where you could make your own soup that we warmed up with You pick the broth, and then the ingredients are all in the fridge and you pay by the color of the plate. We didn't win anything, but it was a pretty fun experience.

That night we also decided we should dye our Easter Eggs for the potluck taking place the next day with our mini-church.

Hope in the World & St. Patrick's Day

On Saturday we participated in our church's "Hope in the World" clean up day. We broke up into geographical groups and since we lived on base we didn't have to go very far! We walked to the Mokapu Mall, there we did an opening prayer, listened to some basic instructions, were assigned to a group and then proceeded to prayer walk and clean-up the neighborhood behind our housing community and finally Ft. Hase Beach.

Sunday we headed down to Gordon Biersch for a low-key (aka: NOT Waikiki) St. Patrick's Day. It was fun to get together with everyone and watch the sunset from the lanai.

Old Friends & Showing Support

On Saturday evening we headed to church for the first ever "Young Marrieds Ministry Event" ...BUNCO! We had invited a lot of our friends and were so excited when the Hoffman's (remember them from Maryland? And Taylor from ASU) decided to come!

Yesterday I went down to Black Cat (my hair salon) to show support for Adrien. She has been growing her hair out since her mom passed away 6yrs ago. She decided it was time to donate it and chose Pantene's Beautiful Lengths to be the recipient, directly helping out a woman fighting breast cancer, like her mother, receive a wig. She donated 13in! It was definitely emotional for her, because that was one of the last things to "let go of" since her mom's passing, but the knowledge it was going to help someone feel beautiful during a trying time helped her through it.

Mini Golf - Certification - Ducks - SUP

At the end of February I finished up my training for being a L.I.N.K.S. (Lifestlye, Insight, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills) mentor. I am really excited about this opportunity to help new military wives transition smoothly into this lifestyle and have a bit more knowledge on what is going to come and the services they have available to them that I wasn't aware of when I got married.

On March 3rd the guys randomly decided we should go mini-golfing, so off to BayView Vista we went! It ended up only being two couples, but it was fun hanging out with Brett & Eina. It was our last day with the guys before they went into the field for the week... pre-deployment training, always fun!


One of the crazier things to happen while Quinn was gone = Donald & Daisy. Our two duckie friends decided to come inside the garage while I was working on some mosaics at the desk in the back. They were quite hilarious and I ended up giving them some crackers in the end.

On the 6th I decided I was itching to be in the water, it was rainy on our side of the island so I took my chances and drove over to Hickam Beach. I found the sun! It was a beautiful day, and I paddled my heart out, watching the planes take off and land.
