My body began feeling weirder than normal prior to my period, and then... It never came. I didn't want to get stressed out, my hopes up, or let down by "testing too early," so I made sure to just politely turn down the wine and go on about my life. I tend to get anxious prior to my period, so it wasn't hard to pass off turning down alcohol to my friends. Especially since alcohol and sugar late in the evening are actual triggers for my anxiety.
After I hit 2wks of being late I took a home pregnancy test, it was positive. I took another one the next morning to ensure it wasn't a "false positive" - it came back positive again. So the next day I headed down to the base clinic for their test- unfortunately that evening I missed the phone call- it was Friday, so I had to wait until Monday morning to call back and hear "congratulations, you are pregnant."
The next day I made my initial appointment with the base nurse to talk about options and that evening I set out this onesie for Quinn to find:
His reaction was priceless...
"What is this? *pause* Wait, does this mean I'm going to be a daddy?!"
"What is this? *pause* Wait, does this mean I'm going to be a daddy?!"
At 9wks I had my initial appointment at Tripler, I applied for the Midwife Program as well as the Centering program, we should find out if I got into either later this week at my 12wk appointment. Prayerfully we will also hear our little one's heartbeat for the first time.
I started taking "belly shots" at 7wks... Honestly, I feel like I just look super bloated (like pre-period) or like I always have to pee! But, here they are in order:
We ask for continued prayers that this pregnancy will go smoothly and the baby and I will remain healthy and strong. I started getting morning sickness at 10wks, which is a little late in the game but I am thankful I managed to hold out that long. I had a blood clot scare at 11wks, luckily it turned out to be a really bad strained calf muscle! Because I had two panic attacks prior to that testing appointment, I have been scheduled to talk with a counselor again. I've done it before and honestly pregnancy and delivery are nerve-wracking to me. Much, much more than the actual baby.
Well that's all for now!
