So, Ashley and I met in our sophomore year of high school and just clicked. Seriously, how many people can say they met their best friend during a group project where it was far too hot to be outside (100*+) so you decide to run through the sprinklers that just so happened to come on in the school courtyard, thus returning to your class soaking wet? Well... that's our story, and we're sticking to it!During high school we hung out whenever possible, we both had full time summer jobs but we managed to get together in the evenings. Often times we would go on each other's family vacations as "just another kid." We went through high school drama, retarded boyfriends, classroom stress, and major traumatic life events together...
Anyway, we ended up going to different colleges, myself at ASU her attending UofA (arch rivals!), luckily it was only a 2hr drive when we needed that LLT time. LLT? Yeah, we call each other long lost twins, a lot of people (including her fiance and my husband) say we're alike. Two weeks before our freshman year of college we took a road trip throughout Arizona, thus starting a tradition of pre-semester road trips. Always a fun time! We've stayed friends through her studying abroad in Spain, and my studying abroad in New Zealand and Australia. As well as completing my internship in Northern California.
Now that I am married and living across the country, we don't talk as much as we'd like. But it doesn't mean we aren't friends, care about each other less than before...
And now,we've started a new tradition:
Friends are one of those things in life that you should never take for granted!! =]
